193 south terrace apartments

Location: Fremantle, Western Australia
Jurisdiction: City of Fremantle
Date commenced: June 2018
Date completed: To be confirmed

Architect: maarch*
Landscape Architect:
maarch*
Approved at JDAP

The proposal consists of 4 apartments, associated facilities and works to the existing heritage building.

"The design outcome delivered by maarch* represents the gold standard of heritage adaptation, and through its approach celebrates and enhances the heritage value of both the existing heritage building and all heritage throughout the area. The retention and adaptation of the heritage place will set a strong example for future heritage development in the area; departing from the typical demolition and redevelopment, and instead fully embracing the value of the site. The project aims to highlight the existing building’s significant heritage fabric and facilitate continued conservation works, which together will make a strong contribution to the heritage value of South Terrace and the wider South Fremantle area. We have thoroughly enjoyed collaborating on this project so far and are looking forward to managing the application post-lodgement through to a positive determination."
